The Barn is a medium-sized building added in the v0.20.0 "Open Season" update on October 27th, 2024. It contains a good amount of loot, but is a dangerous structure due to the lack of solid cover.
Location & Spawning
Up to three barns spawn in the Harvest and Halloween Maps. There is a limit of one per quadrant.
Areas
Overhang
The Overhang is the area in front of the side Door. It always contains a Normal Crate, an Ammo Crate, and a Barrel.
Ground Floor
The Ground Floor contains a Flint Crate, a Normal Crate, an Ammo Crate, a Grenade Crate, a Gun Case, three Bookshelves, and five Boxes. It also contains several Hay Bales.
When entering through the Barn Door, there are two large Hay Bales directly in front of you. Hay Bales and the Barn Doors make excellent cover as they both have high amounts of health.
Second Floor
The Second Floor contains a Gun Case, a Barrel next to the Gun Case, two Normal Crates, a Box, a Grenade Box, a Bookshelf, and a Gun Locker.
Break the Gun Case or the Gun Locker first, but you need a piercing weapon (e.g. Maul) to break the Gun Locker. The second floor is cramped and if you don't have a CQC weapon like a shotgun, you will probably be killed.
Tips
- Ideally, go loot the Flint Crate or the Gun Case first, as they have the best loot on this floor. Once broken, go to the second floor through either of the two stairwells.
- Note that the Flint Crate is blocked by a Hay Bale which must be broken first.
- Hide in the overhang (it's next to the side Door) with a shotgun to get some kills, but be careful to not hide next to the Ammo Crate, as there is a hole in the ceiling where players can see you.
- The Barrel that is next to the rear stairwell can be damaged, and when somebody exits the stairs, shoot the barrel to kill or heavily damage them. Many players don't think twice about this strategic location.
- On the second floor, you can see players on the ground floor. Use this to your advantage, as they cannot see you.
- Grenade Crates, near the side entrance are a good source of throwables and can be thrown down on the first floor, insta-killing many players.
